New Brunswick Express Entry Stream Update

Effective May 20, 2022, Opportunities New Brunswick has temporarily paused the New Brunswick Express Entry Stream. The move comes following a surge in applications for the Stream.

There will be no further letters of Interest (LOI) or Invitations to Apply (ITA) sent while the Stream is paused. This includes applications with eligible connections.

New Brunswick Express Entry applications submitted May 20, 2022, or later, will not be finalized until further notice.

Please monitor our website for updates. Alternate permanent residency options may be available through the New Brunswick Skilled Worker Stream and Atlantic Immigration Program.

Do you have the skills, qualifications, and work experience to fill a high-demand occupation in New Brunswick? The NB Express Entry Stream of the NB Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP) connects to the federal Express Entry system and will increase your chance of being issued an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residency from Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada.

To be eligible for nomination through the NB Express Entry Stream, you must:

** Please note you cannot have an application to the NB Express Entry Stream without a valid Federal Express Entry Profile.

To be eligible to apply to the New Brunswick Express Entry Stream, you must meet one of the three connections below:

  1. NB Employment Connection
  2. NB Student Connection
  3. NB Occupations in Demand Connection

Complete an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the province through the INB Portal. If you receive an ITA, you have 45 days to submit a complete application. If your application is approved, you will be nominated by the province. You will have 30 days to accept the nomination in your Federal Express Entry account.

Submitting an application and meeting the eligibility requirements for the New Brunswick Express Entry Stream does NOT guarantee a nomination.

Important: GNB reserves the right to change criteria and/or pause streams.

Check the NB immigration website regularly to stay up to date with all changes.
